Sunday Refresh-February Week 4

You know you wouldn't think people would need a reminder to love, but we do. In a week where I am  going come in contact with hundreds of people, I want to remember to show love. Not a fake love but one that comes from deep inside of me because I care about them. One that puts all of my troubles and frustrations aside to care more about someone else than myself. You never know what people are going through and maybe they just need to be shown a little love!

11Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
1 John 4:11-12

This is the last week I will use the La Vie En Rose paper. I focused this week on the kraft paper die cuts that are included in the La Vie En Rose Complements pack. I took the die cuts and colored them in using the Touch Twin Cherry Pink alcohol marker by ShinHan. These markers blend and color beautifully leaving no lines behind and allow me to customize my projects with the perfect color. I also added a few stickers from the Fundamental Basic Sticker Pack
I have to keep it short and sweet today because life is busy so I hope everyone has a great week and use your planner to remind your self to love and "accomplish much"!

Sunday Refresh-February Week 3

Some people dread their birthday, but absolutely love birthdays! It's equivalent to New Year's Day in how I like to think about it. I spend a good bit of time reflecting over what all has transpired over the last year. Then in turn, what I would like to accomplish over the next year.  reminding myself that there is so much to be grateful for. God has truly blessed me in so many ways.

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

I had so much fun designing this layout. I don't know what it is right now about stripes but I love them. I would wear stripes everyday if I could. So of course I love the black and white striped paper that was in the La Vie En Rose paper. And since it is my birthday this week I decided to use my favorite paper out of the pack to decorate my birthday week. I used a lot of the acetate ephemera this week. I love that it is clear because you can use it on the darker papers and it stands out beautifully. I used the Bonding Memories glue to adhere the clear pieces because it goes on blue but dries clear! If I had to do over I would've put the black cardstock completely behind the "HAPPY" pennant just so it would've contrasted better.

I have been attempting to learn hand-lettering. I actually used an old CTMH alcohol marker in Blush to do everything in pink.  I didn't really expect it to come out since alcohol markers bleed so bad but I really liked it.

Sunday Refresh-February Week 2

One thing I am constantly struggling with is how to find the line between being structured and being flexible. Sometimes I can be so goal oriented that unless it is on a piece of paper I don't make time for it. I believe the result of my orderly personality is that I miss the parts of life that can really bring about joy. The best cure for this has been my family getting sick. Illness is the one thing I dread in my house. No one likes to feel bad or see their family struggle with feeling bad, but the benefit is that I am forced to go rouge. My list isn't going to get accomplished and I've learned it is okay. That is truly life. And the down time reminds me that God is the one truly in control of all that is around me. To rely on Him daily means I am accomplishing all that really needs to get done and that is where JOY comes from.

With this layout I kept things a little less busy. The floral print on the paper I felt was already busy and didn't want to overwhelm the layout with too much. I did think the flowers were a perfect reflection of what this week will be about as everything will be about red, pink, and flowers!!

I did a rock-n-roll technique on the stamp "love" that is on Valentine's Day using Pixie and Ruby.
